Team Update: Squad Reduced
The NZ Warriors have finalized their 19-man game day squad for the sold-out round 16 NRL match against Penrith at Go Media Stadium, set for a 5:00 PM kick-off.
Key players Hooker Sam Healey and winger Edward Kosi remain in the squad, while three players-prop Bunty Afoa, halfback Tanah Boyd, and back rower Eddie Ieremia-Toeava-were omitted from the extended lineup just 24 hours before the game.
The Warriors will be missing Queensland second rower Kurt Capewell, who performed an 80-minute game in the recent series-levelling victory over New South Wales and will not be backing up for this match.
Rocco Berry is also out due to a hamstring issue, and Ali Leiataua will be sidelined for five to six weeks due to an ankle injury.
In a positive development, rookie prop Tanner Stowers-Smith, who has just re-signed with the club until 2028, will be on the interchange for his third NRL appearance.
This matchup holds added significance as it marks a milestone for interchange utility Te Maire Martin and Niukore.
The match day is sponsored by One New Zealand.
