The New Zealand Warriors have announced that New South Wales State of Origin star Mitchell Barnett and new signing James Fisher-Harris will be taking over the captaincy duties from the retired Tohu Harris in 2025.
"They're the epitome of leadership, earning respect through their actions on and off the field," said Warriors CEO Cameron George in a statement confirming the decision.
The decision to have co-captains was a natural choice, given the exceptional qualities that both Barnett and Fisher-Harris bring to the team.
Barnett had already proven his leadership skills last season when he filled in for Harris during his injury layoff, showcasing his ability on the field and earning a spot in the State of Origin squad.
With Fisher-Harris now joining him as co-captain, the Warriors are confident that they have a strong leadership duo to guide the team through the challenges of the upcoming season.
Fans can expect to see these two players leading from the front and setting the tone for the rest of the squad with their grit, determination, and tenacity both on and off the pitch.
