The New Zealand Warriors have announced the signing of a prominent rugby union talent as part of their future strategy.
Harry Inch, who was ranked as the No.1 high school player in New Zealand last year, has signed a two-year contract with the Warriors that will run until the end of 2027. He will transition to rugby league after participating in the pre-season with the Crusaders and competing with Tasman in the NPC competition.
Inch is also a member of the 2024 New Zealand Schools team and has already garnered notable achievements in his young career, including reaching the National Secondary Schools tournament final while representing the prestigious Nelson College-the same school attended by Warriors legend Simon Mannering.
"We've been interested in Harry for some time, and we're delighted to sign him," said Andrew McFadden, the Warriors' GM of Recruitment, Pathways and Development. "He's a terrific player and a great young person with all the attributes needed to go a long way in rugby league. As well as his set of skills, he has a real toughness about him."
Inch is expected to play in the halves and will join the Warriors' Under-21 Jersey Flegg Cup team when pre-season training commences in November.
"He's so tough. He's just not afraid of anything," remarked former Crusaders assistant coach James Marshall about Inch.
