The New Zealand Warriors have secured their first NRL home final in 15 years, which will take place at Go Media Stadium on Saturday, September 16.

This will be the club's fourth final at home, with previous matches against Canberra in 2002, Parramatta in 2007, and the Sydney Roosters in 2008.

After a 6-32 loss to the Penrith Panthers, all attention turned to the last week one finals clash between the Knights and Canberra.

In an intense battle, the score was tied at 28-28 before the Knights kicked a penalty to secure a 30-28 victory in extra time.

The winners of the Warriors-Newcastle game will face the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium on September 23 for a chance to reach the grand final.

In the other week two finals match, the Melbourne Storm, who were defeated 26-0 by Brisbane, will host the Roosters at AAMI Park this Friday.

The Roosters also had a thrilling victory, defeating the Cronulla Sutherland Sharks 13-12.

The winners of this match will go on to face the Panthers on September 22.
