The NZ Warriors are showcasing more emerging talent, with promising fullback Joseph Ratcliffe gearing up for his Jersey Flegg Cup (under-21) debut this Saturday against Canberra at the Collegians Sporting Complex in Wollongong.

At just over 17 years old, Ratcliffe, a student from Palmerston North Boys' High School, is building on his success from last year's Harold Matthews Cup grand final.

His development accelerated this year when he debuted for the under-19 team in the SG Ball Cup, participating in the last six games and scoring two tries.

Now, he is moving up to the under-21 team, following in the footsteps of 2024 Harold Matthews teammate Jack Thompson, who made his Jersey Flegg debut last week.

Additionally, fellow teammates from the victorious under-17 squad-winger Ezekiel Davidson-Fa'aiuaso and prop Gordon Afoa-have recently been introduced to the under-21 grade as well.

Thompson will again be in the lineup this week, pairing with Jett Cleary in a setup that highlights the installation of the Warriors' comprehensive player pathways system, now in its third season.

The club continues to focus on developing young talent, emphasizing their commitment to nurturing future stars.
