In a thrilling round 27 of the Super League season, Wigan Warriors emerged victorious, claiming the League Leaders' Shield on points difference against tough rivals Catalans Dragons and St Helens.
The Warriors battled it out against their near neighbours, Leigh Leopards, to secure a hard-fought 10-6 win.
With tries from Jai Field and Jake Wardle, and a successful conversion by Harry Smith, Matt Peet's side seemed destined for an easy victory.
However, Leigh fought back just before halftime, with Lachlan Lam scoring a try, followed by Ben Reynolds, narrowing the deficit to 10-6.
The second half proved to be a tense affair, with no further points scored and Wigan clinging on for their eighth consecutive win.
This victory not only secured them the top spot in Super League but also earned them the coveted League Leaders' Shield, which they proudly received on the pitch.
Meanwhile, in another thrilling match, Sam Tomkins displayed his exceptional skills, leading the Catalans Dragons to the Betfred Super League play-off semi-finals with a convincing 19-8 win over Salford.
