Warriors reveal player injury update, Metcalf returns soon

LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

The New Zealand Warriors have given an update on their injured squad members, with playmaker Luke Metcalf set to make his triumphant return from injury this weekend in the NSW Cup.

After hobbling off the field in the clash against the Wests Tigers, forward Jackson Ford is set to be benched until either Round 25 or 26 due to a pesky PCL strain.

Joining Ford on the sidelines are Rocco Berry (shoulder), Tohu Harris (wrist), Marcelo Montoya (groin), and Adam Pompey (knee), leaving the Warriors with some gaps to fill.

But fear not, as the club will see the return of four players this weekend, with two hitting the field in the NSW Cup and the other two suiting up to face off against the Parramatta Eels on Friday night.

Shaun Johnson (battling chronic Achilles tendinopathy) and Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad (nursing a calf injury) are back in action and have been named in the NRL team list, ready to bring their A-game to the upcoming matches.

Time to show 'em what we're made of, mates!
