Warriors chief executive Cameron George says the club will be "bigger and better" in 2027, despite the raw disappointment of their NRL finals defeat by Newcastle.
The loss followed the club's record New Zealand home crowd at Eden Park, but George said recent results showed major progress, including two top-four finishes and one top-six finish since 2023.
"From a footy sense, we're a semi-final club. We're a finals club now," he said, describing the change as a significant shift from the Warriors' past.
George condemned supporters who threw projectiles at referee Ashley Klein and officials after the match, calling the conduct unacceptable despite understanding the fans' frustration.
"It let us down a lot, so we're really disappointed with those individuals," he said. The NRL and stadium authorities are identifying those involved, with George expecting "significant penalties".
The Warriors have apologised and want no repeat, while George urged supporters to direct complaints through the club and the NRL.
Squad planning now centres on November 1 negotiations. George said only two roster places remained, while Adam Pompey's move to Melbourne Storm was being finalised.
Luke Metcalf and Mitch Barnett are also leaving, but George believes the club's development system can replace them. "We can assure you the club will be bigger and better next year."
