New Zealand Warriors' latest recruit, Jye Linnane, has arrived early to begin his rehabilitation following recent knee surgery.

The young five-eighth aims to secure a long-term starting position with the Warriors after playing 36 games across Newcastle Knights' Jersey Flegg Cup, SG Ball Cup, and Harold Matthews Cup since 2021.

Warriors' general manager of recruitment, pathways, and development, Andrew McFadden, expressed enthusiasm about Linnane's arrival, stating he is "an exceptional talent and a terrific young man." McFadden highlighted the young player's speed and running game as valuable assets for the Warriors.

Previously on a development contract with the Knights in 2025, Linnane had been integrating well with the NRL squad during practice until an ACL injury sidelined him beginning in January.
