Last night, the NZ Warriors' NRL side secured a top four finals spot, ensuring their place in the playoffs.

Today, their New South Wales Cup team has the opportunity to determine their own playoff hopes in their final regular season match against St George Illawarra.

According to the report on warriors.kiwi, the North Sydney Bears have already claimed the minor premiership, but there is fierce competition among the other teams for the remaining four spots in the top five finals series.

With a bye this week, South Sydney will finish on 32 points, while the Warriors are currently on 31 points, sitting in third place based on points for and against.

Canberra is also on 31 points, but they have a lower points for and against differential.

The Sea Eagles and Penrith are close behind on 30 points, with Newtown and Canterbury Bankstown on 29 points.

This means that seven teams are still in contention for the four remaining playoff spots.

If the Warriors defeat the Dragons today, they will secure their place in the finals.

However, if they lose, they will have to wait for the outcomes of matches involving the other contenders.

The Panthers will face the Eels, the Jets will be away to the Knights, the Bulldogs will play at home against fellow contenders the Sea Eagles, and the Bears will host the Raiders.

The outcome of these matches will determine whether the Warriors' season continues or comes to an end.

It is a crucial moment for the team as they strive to seal their spot in the NSW Cup finals.
