The New Zealand Warriors have secured an extension to continue playing games in Christchurch for another three years, taking the agreement until at least 2028.

The team, currently playing their second home game in Christchurch against the Newcastle Knights, have been met with strong attendance numbers and sold-out crowds in recent years.

Warriors CEO Cameron George expressed his satisfaction with the extended partnership, stating, "When we started the partnership, we were committed to making this a long-term deal." This decision comes amidst a backdrop of a potential NRL expansion, with talks of a 20th team after the addition of the Perth Bears in 2027 and a Papua New Guinea-based team in 2028.

The community in Christchurch has shown tremendous support for the Warriors, further solidifying their presence in the city as a home away from home.
