Warriors lock in youth, future's looking bright

The New Zealand Warriors have announced the re-signing of promising young forwards Leka Halasima and Jacob Laban.

Halasima, a standout performer this season, has extended his contract through to the end of 2027.

The 19-year-old has been a regular starter and has played every game in the 2025 season, contributing to the Warriors' strong position in the league as the State of Origin period approaches.

On the other hand, Jacob Laban is viewed as one of the most exciting prospects from the Warriors' development system.

Although he has not been as prominent as Halasima recently, Laban has made a return to the lineup, featuring in four of the last five games.

His new contract runs until the end of 2026.
