Freddy Lussick, the hooker for the New Zealand Warriors, has been granted an immediate release from his contract after making just two appearances last season. He is set to join a new club following his four-year tenure with the Warriors.

Freddy, who is the brother of both Darcy and Joey Lussick, joined the Warriors in 2022 after previous experiences with the Sydney Roosters and St George Illawarra Dragons. His departure comes as his partner shared a heartfelt farewell to New Zealand on social media over the weekend, confirming his move.

As reported by The Daily Telegraph, the 25-year-old has signed with the Penrith Panthers, becoming the fifth player to join the club this off-season alongside recruits Kalani Going, Toby Crosby, Tom Ale, and Patrick Moimoi.

With 50 NRL matches under his belt, Lussick will compete with rookie Billy Scott for the position of back-up to Mitch Kenny next season, as the Panthers aim to reclaim a spot in the grand final after they missed out in 2025 for the first time in six years.
