NRLW Team Update: Three omitted

In a recent update, the NZ Warriors have confirmed that forwards Makayla Eli and utility Tyra Wetere will remain in the game day 19 for their highly anticipated NRLW homecoming match against Parramatta at Go Media Stadium on Sunday at 1:50 PM.

Three players were omitted from the extended squad: hooker Avery-Rose Carmont and props Ivana Lauitiiti and Metanoia Fotu-Moala.

This match marks a significant occasion, as it will be the first time the Warriors' NRLW and NRL teams compete on the same day at home, with the men's round 19 game against the Wests Tigers scheduled for 4:00 PM.

It's also just the second instance of the NRLW team playing a home game, the first occurring on September 22, 2019, against St George Illawarra.

Unavailability due to injuries includes Kalyn Takitimu-Cook, Lavinia Tauhalaliku, and Felila Kia, while Mya Hill-Moana recently became a mother.

Additionally, development player Sharnyze Pihema is injured, leaving only one fit player outside the 22 named-hooker Danii Gray, who is also on a development contract.

Griffiths expressed admiration for the "courage and determination" displayed by the inexperienced NZ Warriors during their first match against the premiership-winning Roosters in 2024.
