The Warriors website has revealed some exciting news that is sure to give their foundation's Tupu Māia programme a major boost.
Thanks to funding from Tū Manawa Aktive Aotearoa through Aktive, the Warriors Community Foundation will be able to continue and expand this wellbeing and empowerment programme specifically tailored for intermediate-aged girls.
This backing from Aktive will allow the foundation to kick goals and reach even more schools across Tāmaki Makaurau.
Tupu Māia, inspired by Te Whare Tapa Whā, aims to build confidence, self-esteem, and a passion for sport and movement among girls, encouraging them to stay active and involved with their teammates.
With a holistic approach that covers the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social aspects of wellbeing, Tupu Māia creates a level playing field where girls can develop resilience and a positive sense of self.
This funding injection is a real game-changer for the programme, giving it the opportunity to make a real impact in the community and help girls thrive both on and off the field.
