The mighty warriors of warriors.kiwi have kicked off their Harold Matthews Cup campaign in style, with a solid 28-10 victory over Manly Warringah.
Debutant second rower Bishop Neal and halfback Ashton Ulaula-Ieremia were the stars of the show, each scoring two tries to lead their team to victory.
Ulaula-Ieremia's kicking game was on point, slotting four conversions out of five attempts to rack up 16 points for the team.
It was a strong start for the Warriors, who were coming off a grand final win over Western Suburbs last season.
Coach TJ Ashford has put together a new-look side this year, with only a couple of players returning from the championship-winning team.
But with players like Ulaula-Ieremia making their mark, the future looks bright for the Warriors.
After a slow start, the Warriors found their rhythm, thanks in part to some key contributions off the bench.
It was a promising start for the defending champions, with plenty of positives to build on as the season progresses.
