The New Zealand Warriors have announced that they will host their Anzac Round match in Wellington in 2026, moving it away from their home base in Auckland.
This decision follows their recent game against the Newcastle Knights, which took place in Christchurch on April 25 this year.
While there is no confirmation that they will play on Anzac Day next year, the last Saturday that fell on April 25 coincided with their first-ever home game on that date in 2015.
During that match, the Warriors faced the Gold Coast Titans among five games scheduled for the day.
Historically, the team played against the Melbourne Storm on the road and is set to host their Anzac Round match in Auckland in 2024 and 2025 before returning to Wellington in 2026.
