New Zealand Warriors head coach Andrew Webster has expressed surprise regarding Roger Tuivasa-Sheck's involvement with the new Rugby 360 competition. He revealed that he was unaware of the discussions between Tuivasa-Sheck and the league.
"I don't know enough about it to comment, and I certainly didn't know that Roger had confirmed those things," Webster stated during an interview with SEN.
Webster emphasized that while he and Tuivasa-Sheck maintain a good line of communication, his primary focus has been on the player's performance on the field, rather than off-field dealings.
This revelation shocked many, especially since Tuivasa-Sheck, often referred to as 'RTS', confirmed that he had been approached about the opportunity. "I've been approached, and I've had chats with them," he mentioned to AAP.
"I'm off contract after next year, so I'm keeping my options open. It is about having a job in 2027. That's probably the appealing part," Tuivasa-Sheck added. He also reflected on his rugby experience, saying, "I enjoyed my time in rugby, and I was lucky enough to represent my region and my country."
