Te Maire Martin, the 27-year-old player for the NZ Warriors, has been omitted from the team's extended bench ahead of their final regular season home match against St George Illawarra.
Martin, who suffered a fractured left fibula in April, was expected to make a long-awaited return to the team.
He was listed on the extended bench in jersey #22 on Tuesday.
In addition to being named on the extended bench, Martin was also named in the #6 jersey for the club's New South Wales Cup side.
This side was set to take on the Dragons in the final round of the regular season in Sydney on Saturday.
During the first six games of the season, Martin played alongside Shaun Johnson in the halves for the NZ Warriors.
However, he missed the fifth game due to a head knock.
In addition to Martin, two other players have been omitted from the team for the upcoming match against St George Illawarra.
Winger Edward Kosi and back rower Kalani Going will also not be playing.
Despite the omissions, middle forward Tom Ale and fullback Taine Tuaupiki will remain in the 19-man game day squad.
One player to watch in the upcoming match is winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, who is close to breaking the club record for most tries in a season.
He currently has 21 tries, tying him with Jamayne Isaako and Alex Johnston for the top spot on the NRL's try scoring chart.
Overall, the NZ Warriors are making some changes to their lineup for their final regular season home match.
Fans will have to wait and see how these changes impact the team's performance on the field.
