The NZ Warriors are preparing for a critical match against the Wests Tigers in the round 19 Jersey Flegg Cup at North Harbour Stadium.
A significant focus for the Warriors will be making a much-improved start, as they have struggled recently at home, allowing large leads against the Penrith Panthers and the Kaiviti Silktails.
In their last match against the Panthers, the Warriors fell behind 0-34 early in the second half, ultimately losing 14-40.
In contrast, during their recent game against the last-placed team, they initially trailed 0-18 after three tries in the first 22 minutes.
However, they mounted a remarkable comeback, scoring eight unanswered tries to win 40-18, which elevated them to eighth on the ladder.
The Wests Tigers come into this match with a similar performance trajectory, securing four wins, a draw, and two losses in their last seven games, including a recent victory over the second-placed Raiders, winning 26-24.
Notably, for the Warriors, centre-winger Brandon Norris has showcased impressive form, having scored his fourth double of the season last week, bringing his total to 11 tries this year.
