In a move reminiscent of a young footballer chasing the ball with all his might, Zyon Maiu'u from the New Zealand Warriors has been granted an immediate release from his contract.

The talented forward, born with the silver fern running through his veins, is set to join the Canterbury Bulldogs in what promises to be a thrilling new chapter in his rugby league journey.

Maiu'u, a rising star in the making, has been honing his skills with the Warriors since 2021.

His NSW Cup debut in 2023 marked the beginning of a meteoric rise, with 43 games at reserve grade level under his belt and a tantalizing NRL debut in the midst of the 2024 season.

With only one NRL game to his name, Maiu'u is preparing to pack his bags and cross the Tasman Sea to join the Bulldogs in Australia.

Rumor has it that the Bulldogs, hungry for fresh talent in their forward pack, have their sights set on the young Kiwi dynamo.

Under the watchful eye of director of football Phil Gould, the Bulldogs have been on a recruitment drive, eager to bolster their lineup.

And with Maiu'u's arrival, the Bulldogs are poised to strengthen their playing squad even further, setting the stage for an exciting showdown on the field.
