Brayden Wiliame, the well-travelled centre for the New Zealand Warriors, has decided to retire from his playing career.
Despite having another season left on his two-year deal, the 30-year-old has made the difficult choice due to ongoing injuries during his first season with the club.
Wiliame started the 2023 campaign as one of head coach Andrew Webster's preferred centres and made his debut as One New Zealand Warrior #273 in a victory over the Newcastle Knights.
He followed that up with another appearance in a close loss to the Sydney Roosters.
Unfortunately, these two games turned out to be his only NRL outings for the season, as he struggled with persistent Achilles tendon and calf problems.
With a total of 48 NRL appearances, Wiliame's career comes to an end after making his first-grade debut with Parramatta in 2013.
