Iron Will: How Warbrick overcame his greatest challenge
Storm winger Will Warbrick acknowledges that 2025 has significantly transformed him, and he aspires for the year to culminate in another grand final appearance.
As he gears up for only his sixth game of the season this Friday, Warbrick reflects on a challenging five-month ordeal with concussion symptoms that made him reconsider his playing future.
Following a concussion in Round 4 against the Dragons, the 27-year-old was out of action until late August, when he made a brief appearance for the Sunshine Coast Falcons before returning to the NRL in Round 26.
Warbrick's comeback was impressive, as he recorded 129 run meters and five tackle breaks, before scoring a try against the Broncos in Round 27, and later securing a critical four-pointer in the qualifying final against the Bulldogs two weeks ago.
Supported by his teammates, Warbrick is eager to deliver the big plays he's known for against the Sharks this Friday, as the Storm aims for their sixth grand final appearance in the last decade.
This journey stands in stark contrast to the tumultuous days he faced during the winter.
