Kevin Walters breaks the news to Broncos faithful about Reece Walsh's NRL return
The Brisbane coach has attempted to manage expectations for the hotshot fullback.
Broncos coach Kevin Walters has sought to temper excitement surrounding the comeback of superstar fullback Reece Walsh, who recently hinted that he may not be fully fit for his return.
Walsh took a hard hit from Taylan May during the clash against the Panthers in round three, resulting in a broken cheek bone.
Opting out of surgery, the 21-year-old was initially expected to sit out for four to six weeks.
However, after being spotted training with protective headgear, rumors of an early return in round six began to swirl.
Just as hopes were high for a swift comeback, Walters stepped in to manage expectations on Wednesday, emphasizing that Walsh would only return to the field when he was absolutely fit to do so.
"When Reece is good to go, he'll be back out there; it's not my call, it's up to the medical team," Walters explained.
In Walsh's absence, Tristan Sailor stepped up and delivered a standout performance in the recent match against the Cowboys.
