In a recent sit-down with The Bench Podcast, St Helens' Alex Walmsley opened up about his uncertain return to the field after a pesky hamstring injury.
The burly prop, who recently inked a new contract with the club, shed light on his decision not to venture down under to the National Rugby League, instead opting for a career in Rugby League.
Currently sidelined for the past two matches, Walmsley's last appearance was against Warrington Wolves in the Challenge Cup back in mid-April.
The 34-year-old powerhouse is eagerly awaiting further test results to determine when he can lace up his boots and charge back onto the field.
"In this moment, it's all a bit up in the air," Walmsley shared.
Having committed to another four years with St Helens, Walmsley's journey with the club has spanned over a decade, amassing an impressive 280 appearances and notching 52 tries along the way.
With a contract that keeps him at the club until the end of the 2026 Super League season, the veteran forward remains hopeful for a speedy recovery and a triumphant return to the pitch.
