Wakefield Signs Veteran Tuivasa-Sheck

Wakefield Trinity has officially confirmed the signing of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, marking a significant move for the club.

On Friday, the veteran player revealed the news via his brother's YouTube channel, where he dramatically signed his contract on camera and expressed his excitement for the upcoming adventure.

His deal is set for two years, allowing him to play for Wakefield in 2027 and 2028, at which time he will be 35 and likely considering retirement from professional play.

Ste Mills, the club's director of rugby, commented on the transformative nature of this signing for the Super League.

"Bringing someone like Roger to Wakefield is a huge shift in the landscape of Super League," Mills stated.

"We believe he is one of the final pieces to the puzzle and someone of his calibre and experience will only help propel the club towards silverware. We've worked tirelessly since the opportunity arose and we can not be happier to have Roger as part of the club for the next couple of seasons."

Tuivasa-Sheck is optimistic about the club's trajectory and, echoing sentiments from his announcement video, expressed his desire to contribute to Wakefield's success.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to join Wakefield and compete in the Super League," Tuivasa-Sheck remarked.

"My family and I are really excited for the move and new challenge. From the conversations I've had, I can see the club is heading in a really positive direction and I'm looking forward to being part of that journey."
