Melbourne Storm players Young Tonumaipea and Sua Fa'alago have been named in the Samoan squad for the upcoming tournament against Australia and New Zealand.

Tonumaipea is making a return to the Samoan team after previously representing them from 2014 to 2017, where he played at fullback in four games during the 2017 World Cup.

Both Tonumaipea and Fa'alago played for the local Melbourne club Northern Thunder before making it to the professional level.

Fa'alago, who has only played one NRL game, is joining the Samoan squad for the first time.

His selection comes after impressive performances for the Sunshine Coast Falcons in the HostPlus Cup this season, including a memorable two-try debut against the Brisbane Broncos.
