Marcus D'Acre, the winner of the Las Vegas combine, has officially signed with the Newcastle Knights in the NRL, enhancing his development in rugby league.
The 20-year-old has a background in rugby union, having represented Canada and Hong Kong.
His signing comes in the wake of the Knights announcing Dylan Brown's arrival from the Parramatta Eels on a significant $14 million contract.
D'Acre is already in training with the Cronulla Sharks, participating in a scrimmage session ahead of their Round 1 match in Las Vegas.
His contract with the Knights will last until at least the end of 2026 and is notably cost-effective, amounting to $1,200 per week, with half of that funded by the NRL, ensuring it won't impact the club's salary cap.
As a player standing at an impressive 194 cm, D'Acre is expected to play in the outside backs and will start his journey in the Jersey Flegg Cup competition.
