Players recognise Upton ahead of NRLW grand final
Broncos star Tamika Upton has made headlines by securing the Players' Champion award, as voted by fellow NRLW players, adding to her 2025 Dally M Medal received on Wednesday night.
With this achievement, Upton becomes the first player in NRLW history to win two Dally M Medals and has now earned Players' Champion recognition just before the grand final against the Sydney Roosters on Sunday.
The agile and formidable fullback has been pivotal for the Brisbane Broncos throughout the season. She led the league by scoring the most tries (19), achieving the highest number of line breaks (19), and contributing with 14 try assists and 17 line break assists.
During the 2025 season, Upton demonstrated her dual-threat capability, effectively serving both as a potent runner and a playmaker, successfully creating opportunities for her teammates while also finishing scoring plays herself.
Her consistency shone throughout the season, as she scored or assisted a try in every match she participated in.
Sydney Roosters captain Isabelle Kelly, the 2024 Players' Champion, extended her congratulations to Upton for winning the 2025 award.
