Tamika Upton, the fullback for the nib Newcastle Knights, has been named the winner of the Knights 2023 NRLW Player of the Year award.
This prestigious title adds to Upton's already impressive list of achievements this season.
In the span of just seven days, she claimed the Dally M Medal for NRLW Player of the Year, won her fourth NRLW Premiership, earned her second consecutive Karyn Murphy Medal, and secured her first-ever selection for the Australian team.
Throughout the season, Upton showcased her skills on the field by scoring a total of seven tries in 11 matches.
Her outstanding performance was highlighted in the Grand Final against the Gold Coast Titans, where she scored two tries to secure the victory for her team at Accor Stadium.
Since joining the Knights from the Brisbane Broncos in 2022, Upton has been an instrumental player, contributing to the team's success.
Out of the 16 matches she has played with the Knights, her team has won an impressive 15.
During the award ceremony, Upton expressed her gratitude for the incredible season she had in front of her teammates, coaches, sponsors, and staff.
Her exceptional skills and dedication to the sport have rightfully earned her the title of the Knights NRLW Player of the Year.
