Tamika Upton, the star fullback, is set to return for the Jillaroos in the Pacific Championships final against New Zealand, having recovered from a calf injury.

The two-time Dally M Medallist has been included in the Australian lineup for the title match in Sydney after missing the previous week's hard-fought 10-6 victory over the Kiwis at Eden Park.

Upton will take back her number one jersey from Abbi Church, who has been placed on the bench after making a significant impact during her Test debut by scoring a vital try and assisting another last Sunday.

Additionally, the starting lineup will see two more changes: Olivia Higgins will step in at hooker to replace the injured Keeley Davis (shoulder), and NRLW speedster Jakiya Whitfeld will take the starting position on the wing.

Jillaroos coach Jess Skinner emphasized the need for improvement after a tough performance, as the world's top two teams prepare for their match.

"We knew last week in Auckland was going to be a step up and there were a lot of positives in coming away with a win in a tight contest, but we know we have to be better in all facets of the game to come out on top again in the final," Skinner stated.

"We are excited for the challenge of playing for a major trophy in front of the home fans, it's going to be an incredible atmosphere, and we want to make Australia proud with the performance on Sunday."
