Rugby League vs Rugby Union: Wallabies star weighs in on NRL rumors

Max Jorgensen, the NSW Waratahs and Wallabies powerhouse, has finally spoken out about the ongoing speculation surrounding his potential switch to the NRL.

The talented player, son of former City Origin representative Peter Jorgensen, has been a hot topic in the rugby world for the past four years, with whispers of a code switch swirling around him.

Rumored to be on the radar of the Sydney Roosters in both 2022 and 2024, Jorgensen ultimately chose to stay loyal to the 15-man game, at least until the end of 2026.

With a strong lineage in rugby league, thanks to his father's stints with the Eastern Suburbs and Penrith Panthers, Max's name has been linked with a potential NRL move for quite some time.

As fellow rugby union stars such as Carter Gordon, Mark Nawaqanitawase, Moses Leo, and Tyrone Thompson gear up for their debut rugby league seasons in 2025, Jorgensen has his sights set on representing the Wallabies at the 2027 Rugby World Cup.

While he hasn't ruled out a future cross-code switch, NRL teams may have to bide their time before attempting to lure him away from the rugby union world.
