Blake Taaffe, a player for the Canterbury Bulldogs, has called on NRL clubs to scout talent from the Koori Knockout, an event that showcases outstanding Indigenous rugby league players.

According to reports from zerotackle.com, the NSW Koori Knockout is the largest tournament of its kind, established in 1971, although it faced cancellations in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19.

Traditionally held on the same weekend as the NRL Grand Final, this annual event celebrates Indigenous culture and heritage, bringing together talented players from various age levels.

Taaffe emphasized the importance of recognizing the potential stars of the future that could arise from this tournament.

"I think the Koori Knockout is a great display of talent of the Indigenous community," he stated, highlighting the talent on offer and the opportunity for NRL clubs to discover the next rugby league superstars at the carnival.
