Uncontracted half drawing interest from three NRL teams

Three NRL teams have thrown their hats in the ring to sign the uncontracted half Ronald Volkman for the upcoming season, according to reports from zerotackle.com.

Volkman, who last hit the field in Round 27 of 2023, has been sidelined for the entirety of 2024 due to a shoulder injury and subsequent surgery.

The playmaker was facing the grim reality of not being able to lace up his boots again.

After being let go by the New Zealand Warriors at the conclusion of last season, this year was meant to be a breakthrough for Volkman when he inked a one-year deal with the St George Illawarra Dragons.

Unfortunately, a devastating blow came in the form of a required shoulder operation, ruling him out for the entire season.

As a result, the Dragons had to release him from the squad, as his contract had not been officially registered with the NRL, despite the club's public announcement of his signing and images of him training with the team.

Now, with interest from multiple NRL teams, Volkman looks to bounce back from his setback and make a comeback in the upcoming season.

The race is on for his signature, with teams eager to bolster their playmaking options with the talented half.
