In a move that has sent shockwaves through the Rugby League world, the Newcastle Knights have officially promoted U19s NSW Blues fullback, Connor Votano, to their development list for the upcoming 2025 NRL season.

This young gun, destined for greatness, has steadily climbed the ranks within the Knights' system, starting from the SG Ball Cup all the way to the esteemed NSW Cup, with dreams of reaching first-grade.

Hailing from Gosford, this 18-year-old prodigy has already showcased his talent in the NSW Cup, making a significant impact in the few games he played.

With a solid record of ten points, 12 tackle busts, 269 running meters, and one try assist, Votano has proven himself as a force to be reckoned with on the field.

While he may not be taking over from the legendary Kalyn Ponga just yet, Votano is eager to soak up all the knowledge he can from the State of Origin star and be ready to step in as an invaluable backup when needed.

His remarkable journey in Rugby League has already seen him receive the prestigious Kurt Gidley award for Harold Matthews Cup Player of the Year back in 2023, hinting at the bright future that lies ahead for this rising star.
