King crowned Sharks royalty on two-year deal
The Sharks are over the moon to announce the signing of multi-sport international superstar Tyla King on a two-year deal from 2025.
Having represented New Zealand in rugby league, sevens, union, touch and tag football, King (née Nathan-Wong) has been a shining star on the global stage for more than a decade.
The 30-year-old's impressive list of achievements include back-to-back Olympic sevens gold medals (2020 and 2024), two New Zealand Sevens Player of the Year awards (2015 and 2019), and the 2023 World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year accolade.
King kicked off her NRLW journey with the Dragons in 2023, earning a Test spot for the Kiwi Ferns by the end of her first season.
After a brief stint back with NZ sevens for their victorious Olympic campaign in Paris last year, she made her way back to St George Illawarra.
Now fully dedicated to rugby league and excited to tackle a new challenge, King is thrilled to kick off a fresh chapter with the Sharks.
