Dolphins head coach Kristian Woolf has revealed that forward Ray Stone has been battling two AC joint injuries in recent weeks.
Stone was visibly in pain during the Dolphins' recent victory against the Canterbury Bulldogs.
Post-game, Woolf commented on Stone's toughness and commitment, saying, "He is a tough man as well.
He has been playing with two AC's in the last couple of weeks.
We are a bit down on troops at the moment, so he just keeps putting his hand up to play." Woolf acknowledged that Stone had been sore during the week leading up to the match, yet he continued to push through the discomfort.
Despite his injuries, Stone has been a vital player for the Dolphins, contributing significantly off the bench and starting in various positions over the last five games, including hooker, second-row, and lock.
He showcased his competitive spirit during the game against the Bulldogs, making 30 tackles and maintaining a strong performance even while in pain.
The Dolphins delivered an impressive win against a weakened Bulldogs team, scoring four tries in the last 17 minutes to approach a 50-point total on the scoreboard.
