Titans new recruit Tukimihia Simpkins played a starring role in his first game for the Tweed Seagulls as they began their 2025 campaign in style, winning 20-16 against the Pride on Saturday night.

Putting in a performance that was as solid as a scrum, the 23-year-old got through an impressive 73-minute stint in torrential conditions at Cairns.

He topped the run metres with 169, proving to be as unstoppable as a charging forward, and registered the most tackles with 30, showing he's a defensive force to be reckoned with.

Just like a seasoned veteran on the field, Simpkins picked up from where he left off as the Hostplus Cup prop of the year last season, showing that he's a force to be reckoned with in the rugby league world.

In other news, the Jets enjoyed the bye at the weekend and are gearing up to face the Tigers on Sunday afternoon at Totally Workwear Stadium.

It's set to be a clash of titans, with both teams hungry for a victory and ready to battle it out on the field like true warriors of the game.
