The Wests Tigers have scored a major victory in the signing game by securing the services of Panthers winger Sunia Turuva.
The Tigers managed to outmaneuver the Dragons in the battle for the Fijian international's signature, offering him a lucrative three-year deal worth approximately $450,000 per year.
Turuva, who originally hoped to remain at the foot of the mountain, decided to explore other options after the Panthers put forward a lesser offer of $350,000 per season.
With the Tigers offering an extra $100,000 per season, Turuva was swayed to join forces with the orange and black from 2025 onwards.
One of the key attractions for Turuva at the Tigers is the opportunity to play alongside his cousin, the experienced hooker Api Koroisau.
The addition of playmaker Jarome Luai to the squad further cemented Turuva's decision to don the orange and black jersey.
According to reports from AAP, Turuva bid farewell to his Penrith teammates on Thursday morning, announcing his departure from the club at the end of the season.
The winger joins a growing list of former Panthers at the Tigers, including Koroisau and Luai, as well as Brent Naden and Charlie Staines.
With Turuva now on board, the Tigers are gearing up for an exciting new chapter as they continue to build a formidable squad capable of making waves in the Rugby League arena.
