Phil Gould, the Canterbury Bulldogs GM of Football, has announced that dummy-half Jake Turpin has secured a new contract with the team, rejecting offers from a competing club.

Despite making only three first-grade appearances for the Bulldogs this season, Turpin drew interest from the Manly Sea Eagles, who sought to bolster their hooker options.

The Sea Eagles proposed a two-year deal, but Gould confirmed via X (formerly known as Twitter) that Turpin will remain with the Bulldogs until at least the conclusion of the 2026 season after signing an extension.

Now part of the club's Top 30 roster, Turpin will compete with Bailey Hayward for the dummy-half position, serving as the primary backup following Reed Mahoney's move to the North Queensland Cowboys.

At 28 years old, Turpin brings significant experience, having played over 80 matches in the NRL and previously being part of the Melbourne Storm, Sydney Roosters, and Brisbane Broncos organizations. This experience will be beneficial for the younger hookers in development.
