Turning Sharks' game into a fortress: Gorden Tallis' unusual pitch

Gorden Tallis' bizarre proposal amid furore over NRL finals game at Shark Park

Gorden Tallis, a former international rugby league player, has expressed his belief that Cronulla fans should have been given the chance to fill an alternative venue and turn it into a "home away from home" fortress instead of playing Saturday's elimination final against the Sydney Roosters at the half-built PointsBet Stadium.

Tallis argues that by playing the game at PointsBet Stadium, which has a reduced capacity due to a major rebuild, thousands of fans have been robbed of the opportunity to attend.

He feels that the Sharks and the game itself have missed a golden opportunity by not shifting the game to a bigger stadium and allowing Cronulla members and fans a few days' head start to purchase tickets before Roosters supporters had their shot.

Various alternative venues, including Accor, Allianz, and Commbank Stadium, were proposed by Tallis.

However, the decision to hold the game at PointsBet Stadium has caused frustration among Cronulla supporters, who feel that they have been disadvantaged.

The controversy surrounding the choice of venue has sparked a furore over the NRL finals game.
