In what was a remarkable turn of events, Braydon Trindall, who had been in the shadow of his Indigenous halves partner Nicho Hynes, emerged as the hero of the night.

Just like his superstar teammate did a year ago, Trindall secured the prestigious Preston Campbell Medal.

This victory would surely go down in the history books.

Watching Hynes take home the ultimate honor last year must have served as a great motivation for Trindall, and he certainly did not disappoint.

Representing Gomeroi and Murrawarri, Trindall played a pivotal role in his team's 22-14 triumph over the Māori.

Despite being thrust into the starting lineup due to Walker's injury, Trindall seized the opportunity and showed incredible skill.

He expertly set up two crucial tries with well-executed kicks and also displayed great composure and defensive prowess.

Coach Ronnie Griffiths admitted that if it wasn't for Walker's injury, Trindall might not have even been given the chance to shine in the halves.

These words proved to be prophetic as Trindall stole the show and delivered a performance that will be remembered for years to come.
