In a bold move that defied the naysayers, the Sydney Roosters managed to lure North Queensland Cowboys star Reece Robson over to the east with promises of glory and success.
Many doubted the Roosters' ability to bounce back after losing key players like Luke Keary and Joseph Manu, but Trent Robinson's strategic vision seemed to have squashed any concerns of a looming rebuild.
After an impressive 2024 season, which saw Robson shine on the Origin stage and lead his team to the finals, the hooker was poised to be the future of the Cowboys.
However, a shock announcement of his departure at the end of the 2025 season left fans stunned.
"We put the best foot forward, but we just couldn't match the offer Reece ultimately received," confessed Cowboys General Manager Micheal Luck.
Yet, it was Trent's vision that ultimately won Robson over, convincing him that the Roosters were the team to be a part of.
With the Roosters' history of success and determination to stay at the top, it seems that Robson's decision may just be the missing piece in the puzzle for another shot at glory.
