Although many anticipated that Jake Trbojevic would take over the captaincy, coach Anthony Seibold chose Tom, his younger brother, to steer the team into the future.

This decision highlights the increasing significance of the 29-year-old on the Northern Beaches. As a local junior who has long supported the Sea Eagles, he is poised to play a vital role in the club's ambition to secure its first premiership since 2011.
