The trainer involved in a controversial incident during State of Origin 1 has been identified as Eddie Farah, brother of former NSW player Robbie Farah.

During the match at Suncorp Stadium, Farah, who was running water for the NSW team, drew the ire of referee Ashley Klein.

Reports indicate that Klein warned him, stating, "Do that again and you won't come back on."

Queensland captain Daly Cherry-Evans expressed his displeasure over Farah's actions.

Although the specifics were not clearly captured on TV, it is said that Farah picked up the ball and handed it to Mitchell Moses just before a Queensland scrum.

Subsequently, Moses threw the ball away, and Farah reportedly kicked it over the dead-ball line.

Cherry-Evans was seen directing attention to the trainer, prompting Klein to approach and issue the warning.

Cameron Smith commented on the situation during Channel 9's coverage, saying, "A little bit of gamesmanship happening there." There were also suggestions that Farah might have sprayed water on the ball, but this was noted as speculation.

After his actions on the field, Farah was seen in conversation with an NRL official on the sideline.
