Tracey Unfazed by Bula Speculation

Bulldogs' Bula pursuit seems over as Tracey re-signs

Connor Tracey, who has just signed a two-year extension, expressed confidence amid rumors that Canterbury might pursue rival fullback Jahream Bula.

Before confirming Tracey's new deal on Wednesday, the Bulldogs had been connected to Bula, who hasn't activated contract clauses to stay with Wests Tigers, making him effectively a free agent until 2027.

Recently, Phil Gould, the Bulldogs' general manager of football, praised Bula highly during commentary for the Tigers' game against Newcastle.

Gould had previously shown similar admiration for Lachlan Galvin, also managed by Isaac Moses, before the Bulldogs secured Bula's former teammate mid-2025.

However, on Wednesday, the Bulldogs reaffirmed their commitment to Tracey with a contract that secures the 29-year-old's place at the club until the end of the 2028 season.

Tracey remained unfazed by speculation regarding Bula potentially taking over his position at fullback.
