Chad Townsend has provided reassurance to his fans, stating he is "feeling fine" after experiencing a medical episode mid-flight while traveling from Sydney to Los Angeles.
The Sharks premiership winner was en route to the United States for Round 1 in Las Vegas when he started to feel unwell during the journey.
As a precaution, passengers were asked to stay seated while paramedics assisted him off the aircraft.
Reports indicate that Townsend fainted after suddenly experiencing various symptoms. It's been confirmed that the incident was not alcohol-related; he has received medical attention and is now on the mend.
In a heartfelt message to his supporters, Townsend detailed the situation.
"Hey guys, on the plane today I started to feel lightheaded and nauseous, I then started to get hot and cold flushes followed by constant sweating.
"I got up to go to the toilet and then fainted.
"The whole ordeal was a little scary, but I just wanted to let everyone know I am feeling fine now and looking forward to Round 1 here in Vegas!"
Despite the health scare, Townsend is eager to participate in the season opener and join the excitement of the Vegas events this weekend.
