Tonga Rugby League is in search of a new women's coach for the upcoming 2025 Pacific Championships.
According to nrl.com.au, the selected coach will lead the team during Pacific Cup matches against the Cook Islands and Papua New Guinea scheduled for October and November.
In addition to these immediate competitions, Tonga is focused on qualifying for the Women's World Cup in 2028, with a growing contingent of players in the National Rugby League Women's (NRLW).
Notable players include Bulldogs forwards Tegan Dymock and Pani Hopoate, Eels playmaker Cassey Tohi-Hiku, Titans prop Natasha Penitani, and Cowboys standout Ana Malupo.
Following recent matches, including a mid-year Test against New Zealand in 2022 and Pacific Championships games in 2023 against the Kiwi Ferns and in 2024 against Samoa, more Tongan women and girls are beginning to display their abilities on an international scale.
