In their recent match, the Maroons faced a disappointing 18-6 loss, described by coach Billy Slater as a 'flat' night.

However, debutant Robert Toia emerged as a "rare bright spark" amidst the team's struggles.

Having only played 10 NRL games before this match, Toia was tasked with the challenging role of marking Origin specialist Latrell Mitchell.

Despite the pressure, he held his own, benefiting from the confidence built during his time with the team in camp.

Another standout for the Maroons was Jeremiah Nanai, who showed resilience by overcoming being dropped from the Cowboys in Round 2 to reclaim a position in the starting lineup, ultimately earning his spot back on the Queensland team.
