Rob Toia is drawing inspiration from the Queensland team of 1995 after a challenging outing in Perth, where the Blues nearly executed a remarkable comeback in Game Two of the State of Origin.

Despite the New South Wales team scoring four tries in the second half, they fell short, losing 26-24 due to difficulties with conversions.

Toia acknowledged the importance of learning from the defensive lapses that contributed to this near victory.

Toia, a rookie for the Maroons, has faced the formidable Latrell Mitchell while effectively preventing him from scoring.

However, Mitchell's contributions aided the Blues in their comeback efforts.

Now preparing for his third game, which is the decisive match in the series, Toia, with only 12 NRL games under his belt, is eager to embrace the challenge posed by the Blues once again.
